Singing Workshop 2024
Description
On the 16th September 2023, Renaissance Voices will be hosting an informal workshop for singers of all abilities led by Paul Leddington Wright, formerly Organist and Director of Music at Coventry Cathedral.
Most of the music on the day will be taken from the European Sacred Music book, edited by John Rutter. There will be some copies available on the day to borrow, although probably not enough for everyone, so if you happen to already own the book or would like to purchase a copy, then that might be helpful. Please indicate on the enrollment form if you would like to borrow one.
Please bring a picnic lunch and something to sit on outside (deckchair, rug) if the weather allows. Afternoon refreshments will be provided. The workshop will take place at the Soltau Centre, which can be found behind St James the Less church at Stubbings, near Maidenhead.
Schedule
European Sacred Music
The book European Sacred Music is a very popular and respected collection of sacred choral music, and will contain most if not all of the pieces to be sung in the workshop. Any other music not in this book will be provided if needed.
While there will be copies of the book available to borrow (please indicate your desire to do so on the signup form), it would be helpful if people can bring their own copy if they have one. Anyone wishing to purchase their own copy of the book, we have collected a few links below that may help:
- NEW - Amazon.co.uk (£18.50 at time of writing)
- NEW & USED - Google shopping link (Various prices)
- USED - eBay (Various prices)
Provisional songlist
The following is a provisional list of the pieces that will be sung during the workshop. Please be aware that this list might change before the day of the workshop, although the only book that will be needed remains European Sacred Music.

Any other music to be sung (i.e. not from the book) will be provided on the day.
